PSM (Plant Starch Material)

The plant starch material is made of about 70% renewable plant starch and about 30% plastic fillers. Plastic fillers are required to strengthen plant starch resin so it performs adequately in use. PSM is NOT COMPOSTABLE. It’s an eco-friendly & more sustainable alternative to 100% petroleum based products.

Since PSM is derived from a renewable resource (plant starch), it has become an attractive alternative to petrochemical-derived products. Unlike plastic, PSM can also be disposed of through incineration, resulting in non-toxic smoke and a white residue which can be used as fertilizer.

Traditional cutlery is typically made from virgin plastics. PSM cutlery replaces some of these finite resources(petroleum) with annually renewable plant starches, making it a much more sustainable choice for your dinnerware.
